Founded in 2006, Lovely Professional University is a for-profit private higher education institution located in the the rural setting of the large town of Phagwara (population range of 50,000-249,999 inhabitants), Punjab. Officially accredited/recognized by the University Grants Commission, India, Lovely Professional University (LPU) is a large (enrollment range: 10,000-14,999 students) coeducational higher education institution. Lovely Professional University (LPU) offers courses and programs leading to officially recognized higher education degrees such as pre-bachelor degrees (i.e. certificates, diplomas, associate or foundation degrees), bachelor degrees, master degrees, doctorate degrees in several areas of study. This 11 years old H.E. institution has a selective admission policy based on entrance examinations and students' past academic record and grades. The programmes offered at LPU University are in streams including Engineering, IT & Software, Science, Humanities & Social Sciences, Teaching & Education, Business & Management Studies, Accounting & Commerce, Law, Mass Communication & Media, and Arts (Fine/Visual/ Performing). LPU also offers courses in Physiotherapy and Physical Education.

Minimum Eligibility Criteria for UG & PG Courses

Candidates willing to get enrolled in the University’s UG programmes should hold a Senior Secondary School Certificate or should have cleared an equivalent examination from a recognised board. The candidate must have secured a minimum of 50% in the qualifying exam. 

Candidates willing to get enrolled in the University’s PG programmes should hold a Senior Secondary School Certificate or should have cleared an equivalent examination from a recognised board. Also, the candidate should hold a Bachelor’s degree of three years of druration. The candidate must have secured a minimum of 60% in the qualifying exam.

Admission Process 

Lovely Professional University conducts its own entrance Exam, LPUNEST and LPUPET for numerous Programmes. Also, it accepts the scores of a few National Level Exams. Admission to rest of the courses is based on merit.
